Admissions

Frequently Asked Questions

CNA Program

What are the admission requirements?

– Must be at least 16 years old (parent/guardian must attend enrollment appointment for those under 18)
– Obtain a negative TB result
– Obtain a physical from your primary caregiver
– Must be able to read, write, and comprehend English

TB and Physical?

TBs must result in a negative. Individuals born outside of the USA may have to do an x-ray or blood sample version of the test. Individuals that have tested positive before may need to do an x-ray or blood sample version of the test. TBs, done with the needle, take about three
days, so schedule your appointment appropriately. The Physical must be signed by the doctor.

If you have done a TB or Physical in the last year, those are eligible to submit, however, under certain circumstances, students may need to get an updated version of either. If these items are not turned in by the time Labs begin, the student will be unable to return to class until both are turned in. If a student misses more than the allotted time, even due to lack of a TB or Physical, they will be dropped.

Do I need prior Healthcare experience?

No experience is required. Our program is designed for beginners entering the healthcare field.

Do I need to have my Highschool Diploma or GED?

We do not require either for our program, however some employers may require one. If you are looking to do a higher healthcare program after your CNA, it may be needed.’

What will I learn?

What happens after I complete the program?

Once you have completed the program, and paid in full, you’ll be eligible to take the state CNA exam. Once you pass, you will become a Certified Nursing Assistant and can apply for CNA jobs in hospitals, prisons, clinics, home care, and long-term care facilities.
