CNA requirements for Montana

  • Must be at least 16 years of Age. If under the age of 18 parents must attend orientation with the minor and cosign the required documents.
  • Must be able to read and write English.
  • Diploma or GED Certified preferred but not required.
  • Applicants must submit a Montana ID or Driver’s license and Social Security Card.
  • TB Skin Test before patient contact. If you have a history of a positive skin test, a chest x-ray must be taken before patient contact.
  • Obtain criminal record clearance by submitting fingerprint images (optional) and related information to the State Department of Justice.
  • As part of the background clearance process, the incoming student shall provide information as to whether or not the person has any prior criminal convictions, has had any arrests within the past 12-month period, or has any active arrests, and shall provide information on any prior administrative action taken against him or her by any federal, state, or local government agency and shall certify, to the best of his or her knowledge the information provided is true.
  • Students must provide their current vaccine record or exemption by orientation day.
